Addington Celebrates 50 years
Addington School celebrates its 50th birthday in 2022. The school moved to its current site in April 2009. Prior to that it was situated in Loddon Bridge Road, sharing the site with Rivermead Primary School.
On the old site the school was divided between three buildings. The Ash building at the end of the site was for primary aged students (reception to year 6); Oak building in the middle of the school was the secondary school (years 7-11) and Maple at the start of the drive was for sixth form students, then called FE (Further Education). The buildings were named after the three trees on the site and the oak tree inspired the school’s tree logo.
